Frying Pan Country Store is open: Monday through Saturday: 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The store is the meeting place for: The Frying Pan Farmers Market brings locally grown farm fresh produce, baked goods and potted herbs to the park on Wednesdays, May through October. Stop by for new and heirloom varieties of fruits, tomatoes and vegetables, seasonal flowers, tantalizing aromas from baked breads, tarts, scones and cookies, as well as a variety of potted herbs for your kitchen garden. The Acoustic Jam performs music at the store the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month, meeting from 1 - 4 pm. This is an informal drop-in session, and everybody is welcome for lots of pickin' and strummin'...or just plain listenin'. The Country Store stocks a variety of educational and entertaining books and toys for all ages. Browse for unique gifts for farm, equestrian and history enthusiasts. Old-fashioned games, model tractors, toy farm animals, tools for young gardeners and nature lovers are available, as well as seasonal and decorative items for the home—there is something for everyone! ![]() Local history books featured include: Frying Pan Farm, by Elizabeth Brown Pryor Pick up or get your 2005 Virginia Time Traveler's brochure stamped at the Country Store. The Frying Pan Farm Park Junior Ranger booklet is available, as well as Junior Ranger patches which may purchased for $2 each, plus tax. Drop in for a refreshing candy stick, cold drink, ice cream, or farm fresh eggs. Park information is available here, as well as friendly service...kind of like the old days! Call 703-435-3710 for store information. The Frying Pan Farm Park Country Store is housed in the old Vocational Technical Building of the 1921 Floris Vocational Technical High School. The building was used as a shop by the high school boys. Here they studied the mechanics of tractor repair, practiced wood-working skills, and learned about the latest technical and agricultural equipment. Fairfax County was on the "cutting edge" of agricultural and dairy technology in the 1920's! |
