Position Title: Book Discussion Leader - Father/Son or Mother/Daughter

Branch: Available at several branches

Department: Children's

Supervisor: Children's Staff

Length of Commitment: One year (or Sept-May)

Time Involvement: 5 hours per month

Position Summary
:
With children's librarian, develops a plan for promoting, implementing and facilitating a monthly book discussion for fathers and sons or for mothers and daughters.

Major Responsibilities:
With staff, advertises and promotes discussion group. Helps group develop guidelines for choosing books and conducting the discussions. Works with staff to obtain copies of the book. Informs staff of progress of the group.

Qualifications:
Knowledge and appreciation of children's literature. Experience working with children and adults. Ability to facilitate discussion.
