The Office of Elections is committed to providing each citizen of Fairfax County with the opportunity to exercise his or her right to vote in an efficient and equitable manner in accordance with the Constitutions of the United States and the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Code of Virginia.

You cannot request an absentee ballot using an e-mail message. You must complete and sign the absentee ballot application form to receive an absentee ballot by mail. The completed and signed application may be forwarded by mail, fax or as an e-mail attachment.

The Office of The General Registrar is open for business weekdays, 8:00
a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Please note that our office hours are extended prior to elections for voter registration, absentee voting and election officer training. Hours are also extended on candidate campaign finance filing deadline dates.
Electoral Board Meetings
Notice of Electoral Board Meetings. Emergency Meeting, Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 12:00 p.m., Conf. Rm. 4-5,; Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 9:00 a.m.
Unless otherwise noted, Electoral Board Meetings are held in Conf. Room 315C, of the Fairfax County Government Center located at 12000 Government Center Pkwy., Fairfax, VA
Reporting a Change of Address
To remain a qualified registered voter, the law requires you to notify your local voter registration office of any change in your name or address. This must be done before the registration books close for the next election. You can submit your notice of change of name or address either by mail or by fax (703-324-2205). In either case, the notice must include your signature to be valid. Notice cannot be made by telephone or by e-mail. After your change is processed, you will be mailed a new Voter Information Card. If a new card does not arrive within a few weeks, please call us at 703-222-0776 to confirm that your notice was received.
