Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer
Solutions operated by the Fairfax Area
Agency on Aging (AAA) includes many distinct aspects of service to older
adults in the Fairfax area. Many of these programs involve
volunteers over the age of 18 in direct service with clients 60 years old
and over and adults with disabilities. The
AAA also offers a variety of in-house volunteer opportunities that
provide support and assistance to all the agency's programs and
services. These assignments are done on-site at one of four
Volunteer Solutions offices located throughout Fairfax County. If
interested in volunteering, please fill out
the Volunteer Registration Form and e-mail or print and mail

- 703-324-5406
Trained volunteers help senior adults with understanding Medicare rules, Medigap policies, Medicare HMO plans and long-term care insurance. They also help clients work through the maze of filing medical insurance claim forms. A two-day training is held in April. Additional volunteers for the Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program are not needed at this time. Please check back in a few months, or consider other Volunteer Solutions' opportunities. Another option is to see if VICAP programs in surrounding counties are accepting applications.
